When it's worth building
Four signs your bookings have outgrown WhatsApp and Excel.
You don't need custom software for a handful of bookings a week. You probably do need it once any of these are true.
- 01Bookings arrive over WhatsApp and someone re-types them into a spreadsheet — every single one.
- 02Double-bookings happen because two people are looking at two different versions of the calendar.
- 03You're paying per room, per seat or per month for a platform whose features you mostly don't use.
- 04Nobody can issue an invoice or process a refund unless the owner opens their laptop.
What's in it
Bookings, check-in, folios and invoices — in one place.
A booking system is only useful if it covers the whole path from enquiry to paid invoice. These are the parts I build most often; your project gets the ones you actually need and none of the ones you don't.
Booking calendar
One live view of availability that everyone shares. No more reconciling two spreadsheets at the end of the day.
Check-in & check-out
Front desk moves a guest through arrival, stay and departure without touching Excel or asking the owner.
Group folios & split billing
Bookings that cover several rooms or several people, billed together or split apart — the case most cheap tools get wrong.
PDF invoices & receipts
Generated from the booking itself, with your own numbering, ready to print or send. No manual retyping.
Guest & customer database
Every past booking searchable against the person who made it, instead of scattered across chat history.
Refunds & adjustments
Cancellations, partial refunds and rate changes recorded properly, so your numbers still add up next month.
Shipped work
A resort in Malaysia runs its whole operation on one of these.
Not a mockup. This is in production, in daily use, run by the front desk.
property management · malaysia
SimplyGMS
Full property management system for a resort in Malaysia — bookings, group folios, check-in/out, refunds, guest database and PDF invoicing. It runs the resort's daily operations end to end.
- before
- Bookings, folios and refunds tracked by hand, across spreadsheets and chat
- after
- One system from booking to printed invoice — run by the front desk, not the owner
How it works
Small scope. Fixed price. Shipped.

1
Tell me the chore
A 30-minute call or a WhatsApp voice note. Describe how bookings reach you today and where it hurts.
-
2
Fixed quote, small scope
I quote a fixed price for the smallest system that removes the pain. If it needs a big team, I'll say so.
-
3
Built after hours
I build nights and weekends, and show you progress on a live link every week — working software, not screenshots.

You own it
Your accounts, your data, your code. Maintain it with me monthly, or take it over completely.
FAQ
Questions about custom booking systems.
How much does a custom booking system cost in Malaysia?
Fixed price, quoted upfront after a 30-minute conversation. Small tools typically land in the low thousands SGD. If an off-the-shelf booking tool already fits your business, I'll tell you that instead of quoting.
Can a custom system replace my current PMS or booking software?
Sometimes. If you're paying per room per month for features you never touch, or your software can't handle group folios and split billing the way you actually work, then yes. If your existing tool fits and you're just using it badly, I'll say so.
Will my front desk staff actually be able to use it?
That's the whole test. SimplyGMS is run day to day by the front desk — not by the owner. I build around the workflow your staff already have rather than making them learn someone else's.
Who owns the booking system and the guest data?
You do. Your accounts, your data, your code. I can maintain it for a small monthly fee or hand it over completely. No lock-in.

How do bookings reach you today?
Send it to me in one message — where enquiries come in, what gets re-typed, what goes wrong. If I can build it, I'll quote you a fixed price. If I can't, I'll say so and tell you what to look for instead.
